Any person wishing to hunt or trap within the city must possess the proper hunting license and/or special permits required, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 1533.10.

    (2)

No person shall hunt on the land of another without written permission of the landowner or his or her agent. Such written permission must be carried upon the person and presented upon request to any wildlife or law enforcement official, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 1533.17.

    (3)

No firearms will be allowed for hunting within the limits of the city. Hunting will only be allowed with a longbow or crossbow.

Hunting along any railroad property and the Miami Conservancy District property along the Great Miami River, within the city, is prohibited.

    (5)

Any person wishing to hunt within the city must, in addition to the proper State of Ohio licensing and landowners permit, obtain written permission signed by the chief of police or his or her designee. Permission may be denied should the chief of police or his designee deem the hunting area to be too small or a danger to persons or property.

    (6)

No hunting will be allowed within 500 feet of a residence, roadway, school, park or recreational area.

    (7)

Nothing in this section shall be deemed to prohibit the killing of rats and other undesirable rodents authorized to be killed by the chief of police, using means for such killing that are also authorized by the chief.

    (b)

Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
